USDC, COLORADO, MAGISTRATE JUDGE HEGARTY
Magistrate Judge Michael Hegarty, took the bench on February 15, 2006. He enjoys meeting the attorneys who appear before him, helping people to solve their disputes through the settlement conference process, and getting to know the court family from the “inside.” Judge Hegarty served for 14 years as an Assistant U.S. Attorney with the Civil Division of U.S. Attorney’s Office in Denver, including six months as Deputy Chief and over three years as Chief of the Civil Division. Judge Hegarty graduated with honors from Kansas State University, and then studied in West Germany. He received his law degree in 1986 from the University of Kansas, where he served as Technical Editor of the law review and graduated Order of the Coif.

William Hamilton is board certified in business litigation and intellectual property by The Florida Bar. His work includes complex business litigation in the areas of contract, software and technology disputes, intellectual property (copyright, trademark, patent and trade secrets law), e-commerce, data security, telecommunications, trade regulation and unfair trade practices, and commercial real estate.
Mr. Hamilton currently teaches Electronic Discovery and Digital Evidence as an adjunct professor at the University of Florida’s Levin College of Law. Mr. Hamilton is a featured speaker and writer on business litigation, electronic discovery and evidence. Mr. Hamilton is also a neutral, arbitrator and mediator for the World Intellectual Property Organization, the International Trademark Association and the American Arbitration Association. He is the chair of the advisory board of the Association of E-Discovery Certified Specialists.

Cheryl Proctor is the Director of Client Services at Baker, Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell & Berkowitz, PC, one of the 100 largest law firms in the country, with more than 560 attorneys and public policy advisors located in offices in Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee and Washington, D.C. Cheryl is currently serving a two year elected term on the Board of Directors for ILTA (International Legal Technology Association). Patrick O’Rourke is the head litigation attorney in the Office of University Counsel for the University of Colorado. He is responsible for the defense of all litigation brought against the University of Colorado. Before joining the Office of University Counsel, Patrick was a director of Montgomery Little & McGrew, P.C. and represented clients in a broad range of civil litigation. Patrick graduated from the Georgetown University Law Center in 1995 and is regularly invited to speak on a wide range of legal issues, including medical malpractice litigation, civil rights litigation, and appellate practice.
