COALSP was officially formed in July of 2005 by a group of litigation support professionals sharing a
common interest in development and progression of the litigation support profession.  Originally
named COALSM (Colorado Association of Litigation Support Managers), the association changed its
name in June, 2009 to keep pace with the growing litigation support industry and to more accurately
mirror the make up of its membership.  COALSP is based in Denver, Colorado.  Membership is
available to all individuals who meet the membership criteria defined in the COALSP Bylaws.  COALSP
holds monthly "Lunch & Learn" meetings for educational benefit to the membership with regard to
topics relevant to the litigation support profession.
The purposes of COALSP are as follows:

  • To function as an advocate for the development of the profession of litigation support
management, and to encourage the highest levels of professionalism and technical
    competence within the membership.

  • To be a primary educational resource for member law firms, and to further the understanding
of litigation support technology and services within the legal community as a whole.

  • To contribute, within the scope of the profession, to the quality and efficiency of the delivery of
    legal services.

  • To provide a forum in which members can exchange personal viewpoints and experiences
relating to the litigation support field.
